This is actually an old mecha design I recently decided to color. Even tho its about a year or so old, its still one of my favorite mecha designs I've done thus far. Originally the concept was gonna be based off of a mobile weapon like the Phantasm on Armored Core Project Phantasm. But then, I switched it to the concept of a sleek, underwater based unit. However, it evolved past that as well. Overall I just love the almost alien body & sleek shapes used in it.
Its main means of attack is the blade on its back. It is mounted on a maneuverable arm which can rotate 180° from its center point around the body, similiar to the Murasame Liger in the new Zoids season. (This was designed before that however.) The blade is not limited to a cutting edge however. The blade can split open into a high powered charged rail gun of sorts. The top edge of the blade is also made of a material which vibrates at a high frequency, allowing minimal effort when used for cutting. The same technology used in the main blade is also used in the claws on the feet. Also the front side of the blade unit when in its stand-by position has a shield housing.
The MXU-Mobius is capable of folding its legs near to its body & utilizing a low elevation hover system for faster travel over land. A pair of boosters are also mounted on the back for limited aerial flight. The Mobius is also capable of high maneuvurability in water as well.
The MXU-Mobius was part of a series of giant mecha I designed called the Exa-Gears.
lol its design was actually based on something completely outside of the zoids universe at first...I later decided its blade/cannon thing would move like murasame liger's blade...but its original inspiration was the Project Phantasm...from Armored Core Project Phantasm. lol

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
